About Me

"Dance, dance otherwise we are lost!" Pina Bausch

From children and adults to people with disabilities and professional dancers who performed in competitions at the highest level, they all performed well and I enjoyed seeing everyone I work with smiling, laughing and having a great time while learning to dance or perfecting their art.

I started dancing at the age of 8 and my first encounter was with classical ballet at the Ballet School in Cluj. During my teenage years I completely fell in love with ballroom dance and developed as a professional ballroom dancer, performing at highest level in county and national competitions, on stage festivals, in televisions shows.

I developed naturally from professional dancer to professional dance instructor and co-founded Napoca Dance Sport Association.
In the last fifteen years as a teacher but also as a dancer I constantly aimed to be up-to-date with the newest dancing techniques and to diversify my dancing experience by approaching next to ballroom dances, several other dance styles, such as Argentine Tango and Salsa.
In 2006 while visiting United States, I was introduced to West Coast Swing and had a unique privilege to meet and train with American champions. Those American champions who then judged me in competition are: Kellese and Brent Key, Patty Vo and Berry Jones, Sarah Vann Drake and Kyle Redd, Melissa Rutz and Ben Morris, Robert Cordoba and Debora Szekely, John Lindo and many more.
I returned to Romania and in 2009 I was the first one to approach this dance style in my home country, both as a dancer and a teacher. I founded Napoca Dance Westies to promote this style of dance, parties, lessons and workshops in Cluj-Napoca area.

Dance Classes

Dance Classes

  • :

You want to learn how to dance, but you lack of confidence or time to go to dance classes, I’ll teach you.  My simple, productive private and group classes for adults, are suitable for everybody. You have two left feet? Join my classes. Think you are to old? Never. You don’t need a partner to dance with, some styles can be learned individually. Ready to go? First class is free of charge. Choose any beginner, intermediate or advance classes.

Everyone can ballroom dance. I’ve taught blind people and I think if people with disabilities can ballroom dance, then, being out of shape is without doubt the worst argument for not trying. Whether you are at an event or simply dreaming about leading your partner on the dance floor, the Waltz, Tango, Salsa, Swing/Jive can be very easy and joyful if you’ll give them a few moments of your time.

Tango is danced all over the world. It consists of a variety of styles developed during different time periods and regions. The dance is basically about walking with your partner in an embrace accompanied by music. The passion of the underworld is now full of glamour, elegance, shiny evening gowns and men in tuxedos.

Swing dance is going to bring a huge smile on your face because it’s about having fun. Easy to learn as it is built on a triple time step. Think about the famous Lindy hop, Rock’n’ Roll and Jive, All these dances get everybody up dancing to the beat. Swing dancing has the huge advantage of looking great when danced to a wide variety of music, so whatever your favorite track might be you can dance on it.

Stretching

Stretching

  • :

Today’s traveling to work and sitting in an office chair for more then 8 hours a day has a negative effect on our health. Stretching is a form of physical exercise that helps you achieve comfortable muscle tone. While stretching you deliberately flex or stretch a specific muscle or tendon in order to improve your muscle ‘s elasticity. As an athlete it was common to stretch before and after exercise in order to reduce injury and increase performance. Along the years I have discovered how stretching can stabilize the body’s natural balance and posture, leading to better coordination. To do it properly and to avoid injuries we put together with a physiotherapist a program that uses different types of stretching to help relax the muscles, increase the range of motion and flexibility and one’s better performance.

Workshops

Workshops

Dance has been an important part of earliest human civilization. Before the invention of written languages, dance was one of the methods of passing stories down from generation to generation. Dance can be captivating it can bring color and energy to your class or organization.

Workshops are often more effective than common modes of interaction. Larger groups of people can be proactively engaged in a single dance forum through which participants gain deeper and improved understanding of the movement, socialize and have a good time. My workshops will give you an insight into diverse dance styles. Interacting with the other participants you will discover your unique strengths, improve your confidence and stay fit. Also dance is one of the most enjoyable ways to lose weight. Learning the subtle power of movement will help you get more creative.
